How to use Genesis E-cigarette

Step 1

Primary E-Cig Parts: Battery, Atomizer,Cartridge

It is recommended that you first read theuser's manual upon revival of your electronic cigarette in order to correctlycharge the battery or batteries included in the kit. Once the amount of chargetime is complete, it is time to get started in assembling the E-cigarette.

Wash hands thoroughly then lay a cleancloth or towel on a flat stable service that s easy to access. This isespecially important if one chooses to fill blank cartridges versus using thepre-filled cartridges.

Lay out all the items from the E-cigarettekit on the cloth including the pack of pre-filled cartridges. Include anyadditionally ordered items such as e-liquid, blank cartridges, or pre-filledcartridges of varying kinds. If using blank cartridges to fill with e-liquids,include either a tooth pick or at the least a 16-gauge syringe with needle, anda pair of tweezers.

Bring the battery, which is a long cylindrical piece to the front where it iseasy to grasp along with an atomizer and one of the pre-filled cartridges.

Everything should be easily accessible forassembly.

*If you intend to fill blank/empty cartridgeswith e-liquid, then set out a blank cartridge, bottle of e-liquid, the toothpickor syringe and tweezers.

Step 2

Pick up the battery and the atomizerparts. Align the threads so the two pieces screw together without much force, paying special attention not to cross thread the items.

*If the battery has a button on thebattery's side, one can press it to ensure the atomizer heats up. Only pressthis button for a maximum of 5 seconds, preferably less.

Step 3

All prefilled or empty cartridge come witha rubber stopper at the end. This little rubber is often referred to as a “cart-condom”among the many users that frequent online forums whose thread pertain toelectronic cigarettes.

Remove the rubber stopper from thecartridge. Make sure the fibres inside the cartridge are not pulled out suchthat they will come into direct contact with the atomizer. If a few strands areout of place, use the tip of a toothpick, or a pair of tweezers, or even asyringe needle (for those who will be filling blank cartridges) to press thematerial back into the cartridge yet not far. Press the filler to a point whereit sits just inside the edge of the cartridge.

Hold the battery with atomizer in one handwhile pressing the pre-filled cartridge into the opening of the atomizer. Donot apply excessive pressure or force. Sometimes it requires a slight twist;however, if twisting be sure to hold the battery and atomizer stationaryotherwise this can pull the wires within the atomizer loose thus rendering the e-cigarette'satomizer useless.

For those filling up empty/blankcartridges, ensure the filler is not hanging out of the cartridge, and theneither use the e-liquid bottle as a dropper, or any included dropper, to dropliquid into the cartridge filler a drop at a time. Stop when the liquid isbeginning to puddle in the cartridge. It is also possible to draw the e-liquidinto a syringe then press the needle into the cartridge in order to press theplunger thus filling the blank cartridge's absorbent filler with e-liquid ofpersonal choice; however, do not overfill as this can flood and consequentlydamage the atomizer. If there is too much liquid simply draw it back into thesyringe via the needle and return to the e-liquid bottle. Please refer to ourpage “How to refill your cartridges” for more detailed instructions.

As mentioned above with pre-filledcartridges, add the cartridge to the battery and atomizer sections already puttogether by pressing the cartridge into place. It is extremely important NOT totwist the atomizer; if a slight twist to insert the cartridge is necessary, take extreme care this not affect the atomizer as it can easily can damage theatomizer beyond repair.

Step 4

The E-Cigarette is now ready for use.Tobacco "analog" cigarettes are for smoking; however, sinceE-Cigarettes have only water vapor, the term used for puffing on an E-cig isoften referred to as vaping. It is now time for the first vape.

Depending on whether the E-cigarette has amanual switch or not will make a difference in the type of puff one will taketo vape. If the E-cigarette has a button, then press the button for no morethan 5 seconds whilst inhaling the vapor. Anyone using the E-cigarette caneither hold the vapor in one's mouth or inhale it the same way with an analogcigarette. Many users tend to hold the vapor then exhale allowing the nicotineto be absorbed without inhaling into the lungs. This is left to personalpreference.

If the E-cigarette in questions does NOThave a manual button on the battery then it is necessary to take a short quickpuff/drag/inhale to activate the chip within the battery before taking anotherpuff to intake the vapor from the cartridge as it is heated by the atomizer.

It is important not to allow the atomizerto become too hot regardless of whether the battery unit has a manual button orrequires the primer puff to activate the atomizer. High temperatures can damagethe atomizer causing it to go out completely with no hope of reprieve thusrequiring one to use the alternative atomizer included in the kit, if said kitincludes an extra atomizer or the purchase of a new atomizer.

Step 5

The E-cigarette will eventually reach apoint where it feels dry when vaping or when there is little to no vapor comingfrom the unit. It is time to either "top off" the cartridge by addinga few drops of e-liquid to the cartridge or, if one is using pre-filledcartridges, it is time to replace the spent cartridge with another pre-filled cartridge.

Those who opt to refill the cartridges usingeliquid should rinse the filler material well every few days and when changing toa different flavor of eliquid, say from tobacco to cherry. This way the flavor willnot come out with some unique but often not very nice tasting flavors. It isimportant to note that some suppliers do offer non-flavored e-liquid with avariety of E-cig save flavorings and bottles to allow one to experiment withmixing flavors. A prime example is mixing a cherry flavor with a coke flavormaking the E-cig taste like an old-fashioned Soda from the old drug store daysof Cherry Coke. Other flavors available include peach, mango, cream, praline, grape, lemon, vanilla, French vanilla etc... In addition, there exists tobaccoflavors available WITHOUT the tobacco smell of second-hand smoke as it is stillvapor without odor and harmless to others. Tobacco flavors included flavorswhich mimic the taste of Virginia Slims, Marlboro, Benson Hedges, 555 (highly popularin the UK), and others including a variety of menthol brands. Someone somewhereeven once created a jerky-like flavor though this E-How writer and E-cigaretteuser will not be testing that flavor!

Over time, the different parts of theE-cigarettes will require replacement. The expected lifespan of batteries andatomizers is affected by many factors including the quality of the parts, frequency of use, general care of the cigarette, for example, not allowing theatomizer to get too hot or twisting the atomizer and avoiding buildup ofeqliuid residue.  Regular cleaning of theatomizer to prevent and remove build up of eliquid residue is highly importantto maximize the lifespan of the atomizer. Please refer to our article on “Howto clean your atomizer” for further details.

Still, when comparing E-Cigarettes toanalog cigarettes, the E-cigarettes is general much cheaper to use, especiallyin the long term. In some cases, users have actually been able to kick thenicotine habit for good by steadily reducing their nicotine intake by graduallyreducing the strength of the eliquid from 24mg to 18mg, 14mg, 8mg andeventually zero.
